Member Spotlight: Rory and Becca Groves of Gather & Grow Ministries

“Health care sharing ministries like Samaritan Ministries make it easier for families to be entrepreneurial,” said Rory and Becca Groves of The Grovestead and their Gather & Grow ministry.

“Health insurance can be very hard to leave behind if you’re leaving a corporate job,” Rory said. “I sympathize greatly. But Samaritan Ministries allows us to do what we’re doing. We don’t want to rely on the state for our health care, so Samaritan is a choice apart from the corporate setting and the state setting that allows us to pursue what we feel God put on our heart to do.”

The Groves have had their share of needs as a family of eight.

“We have had the opportunity to use Samaritan from the beginning of our membership,” Rory said. “Becca had some complications from a miscarriage, and we had to go to the emergency room. Thankfully, the Lord provided, and everything was able to be taken care of. Samaritan was wonderful in that circumstance. There was no hassle about it. They shared everything they said they would share, and we were very grateful, because it was one of the larger expenses we’ve run into.”

Rory said that they have been grateful for the timeliness in which their needs have been shared.

“I mean, it just hasn’t been any of that kind of bureaucratic red tape or hoops to jump through, or misrepresentation,” he said. “They’ve been true to their word on everything that we’ve needed help with.”
