Why SMI? Michael Hamilton thought it was the most Jesus-like

Michael and Maggie Hamilton joined Samaritan Ministries because it “seemed to be the most like Jesus.”
After leaving his high school teaching position in 2013, the Hamilton family needed health care, and Michael “felt sure that I needed to earn enough so as not to need government assistance to pay for health care.” He needed, he felt, “to be consistent with everything I had been arguing politically for years.”
“I heard about Samaritan from a member at a Christian camp, and these were the most Jesus people I had met all week,” he said. “There’s a great emphasis placed from the Samaritan leadership and from the few members that I had met that they’re actually jazzed about living out Acts 2.”
The writer, editor, and teacher also points out that “it’s cheaper than insurance and it opens up so much more flexibility and affordability.” That, he said, is “in tandem with this spiritually fulfilling benefit of this is how it was from the very beginning of the Church.”
