The May Doorpost

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
II Corinthians 10:4-5
We all are confronted with opinions raised against the knowledge of God. Sometimes it’s in the news, at a movie, or over the internet. Sometimes it’s in conversations at work or with our neighbors or family members. Perhaps someone at church has been influenced by an argument that is opposed to God’s Word.
We may be tempted to remain silent. We may tell ourselves, “It won’t do any good to say anything,” or “They won’t listen anyway,” or “I don’t know what to say.”
We aren’t each responsible to answer all of the opinions raised against the knowledge of God, but each of us will have opportunities to answer some of them. When this happens, we need to rely on Jesus Christ to enable us to combat the falsehood that is expressed. We have weapons with divine power.
Have you destroyed any strongholds lately?
