In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to my soul, “Flee like a bird to your mountain?”
Psalm 11:1
In the verse above and following, David is hearing something like, “Leave town! The wicked are hiding in the dark, ready to shoot at you. All of your support is gone. There is nothing you can do about it.”
In the following verses David reminds himself, “The Lord is still in control. This is a test from Him. Everyone is tested. The Lord will bring destruction on the wicked, but the upright shall see His face.”
In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to my soul, “Flee like a bird to your mountain …?”
