The Doorpost: Don't stop praying
By Ray King · Nov 15, 2024
And will not God give justice to His elect, who cry to Him day and night? Will He delay long over them? I tell you, He will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?
Luke 18:7-8
In Luke 18:1- 8, Jesus told His disciples a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said that in a certain city there was an unrighteous judge who “feared neither God nor respected man.” There was a widow in that city who kept coming to the judge and saying, ”Give me justice against my adversary.” For a while he refused, but finally he said, “I will give her justice so she will not beat me down by her continual coming.”
God is not like the unrighteous judge. He will give justice to His elect, who cry to Him day and night, and He will do it speedily. Do we sometimes think God is too slow in answering our prayers? Do we have the faith to continually cry out to Him?
