The Doorpost: Celebrate His birth all year

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
Hebrews 2:14-15

Jesus partook of the same things we do. It started with His birth, which Christians all around the world celebrate at this time of year.

The primary purpose of His birth was so that He could die. By dying and rising from the dead, He destroyed the one who has the power of death. Through this victory, He offers deliverance to everyone subject to slavery because of their fear of death.

That is why His birth was so important. That is why we celebrate it at this time of year, and all year long.
