If you go to the Christian Worldview Film Festival—and we encourage you to do so—stop by the Samaritan Ministries booth to say hi.

The festival runs from March 10-14 at Castle Hills First Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas, and will feature more than 50 films and 40 workshops. Samaritan is sponsoring the Audience Choice Award.

As a festival supporter, we agree with the importance of Christian moviemaking. It’s a way for Christians to share their worldview, not only within the Body of Christ but also with those who have not yet come to the Savior.

According to Phillip Telfer, founder and director of Media Talk 101 as well as a Samaritan member, today’s entertainment is taking people captive. Telfer, who believes that moviemaking can be either a weapon for good or a weapon for evil, started the Christian Worldview Film Festival in 2014 to promote quality films that reinforce Christian values.

“We need to be taking our thoughts captive. We need to be discerning what we’re taking in,” Telfer says. “One of the greatest disseminators in our culture today of philosophy and empty deception is entertainment media” (Colossians 2:8).
