Simple steps to responsible finances

This blog post at Christian Personal Finance is titled “3 Simple Steps to Building Wealth,” but it could just as easily be called “3 Simple Steps to Being Wise with Your Money” or “3 Simple Steps to Building Wealth to Give Away.” Or, at least, it should probably be read with those thoughts in mind.

The steps are “Doh!” thoughts, but we probably all need to be reminded of them regularly:

1. Spend less than you earn.
2. Invest your savings regularly.
3. Do this for a long time.

That first step will save anyone a lot of headaches, even if they don’t invest savings regularly. In fact, perhaps Step 2 should be “Invest your savings regularly in worthwhile and responsible ministries.”
