Samaritan Ministries February 2015 newsletter links

By Samaritan staff  ·  Feb 01, 2015

The February 2015 Samaritan Ministries Christian Health Care newsletter includes reports on a new movie and the members who made it, the place of law in a Christian’s life, and, yes, vacations to Costa Rica (for health care reasons, of course).

  • For the month that includes Valentine’s Day, we offer the essay “Growing in virtue: Finding meaning in marriage” by Jonathan Conner of the Hausvater Project.
  • Rob Slane notes that the law of love and the love of law are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
  • Our Member Spotlight is trained on Chad and Angela Burns of Burns Family Studios, which has created the new movie Beyond the Mask. Writer Marcia Krahn also reviews the soon-to-be-released film. Finally, the Burns family relates the benefits they have found from being Samaritan members.
  • Jed Stuber shares two stories on members who have gone to Costa Rica for health care, one for surgery and the others for routine testing. “Fly a little, save a lot” tells the story of Richard Jordan’s kidney stone surgery at Clinica Unibe, while Tim and Cathy Hohulin relate their experiences in “Members combine medical tests with Costa Rican vacation.”
  • Ray King’s Doorpost devotion reminds us that our faith should make us sing in our heart (Ephesians 5:18b-19).
