Safe harbor for Samaritan members
By Mike Miller · Nov 20, 2011
A lawyer and Tennessean columnist warns of “strong winds, high seas and driving rain” in the upcoming months for health care.
- 2 percent cuts to Medicare providers starting in 2013.
- Cuts in physician Medicare payments.
- A Supreme Court ruling on the Affordable Care Act in July.
- Health insurance price pressure.
- Several other developments flowing out of the ACA.
Prepare for the constancy of scrutiny and change.
Let’s thank God for health care sharing ministries. While others are being buffeted by drastic change in how they manage their health care, members of Samaritan and other HCSMs have at least some calm. True, we will still feel the effects of health care changes indirectly, mainly through costs. But through God’s mercy, we also have a safe harbor, knowing that He will provide for our needs through the Body of Christ.
