Noteworthy: Take your role of bringing up children seriously

Raising children is not simple.

Whether you are raising biological, adopted, or foster children, or you are an honorary grandparent, aunt, or uncle, to friends’ children, at church, or in countless other volunteer ways, the Lord calls Christians to take our role seriously: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

If this upcoming Mother’s Day finds you with sorrow in your heart because of the pain of a broken relationship with a child (young or adult), don’t give up hope. The Bible is full of stories of second (and third and fourth) chances. He won’t give up on your prodigal—so keep praying. “Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s’” (2 Chronicles 20:15b).
