Noteworthy: Praise God for an everlasting nation

As we look forward to Independence Day, we praise God for the amazing freedoms this great country has enjoyed over the centuries and for the many selfless sacrifices of men and women that brought us to where we are. It’s these very freedoms that allow Samaritan Ministries to exist as a health care sharing community, serving the Body in countless ways. So, we continue to seek the Lord in prayer for the challenges that may come on the road ahead.

Whatever happens, we must always remember that the greatest nation is not one marked off by political borders governed by fallible men. This nation is an everlasting nation (Philippians 3:20; Ephesians 2:19; 1 Peter 2:9-10), a nation brought into being by the single greatest sacrifice the world has ever seen, that of the Son of God Himself (Hebrews 10:12-14).

As we celebrate the great freedoms we have been blessed with in our earthly pilgrimage, we walk by faith, looking forward to that great city where moth and rust do not destroy, whose architect and builder is God (Hebrews 11:10, Matthew 6:19-21).
