Noteworthy: As light outside decreases, remember the Light that is in you!

As October dawns, the number of daylight hours each day decreases. Every autumn, some of us feel excited for the return of darker evenings, while others dread the lessening light and the long, dark nights.

Regardless of where you fall in that spectrum, no matter how much sunlight may shine on you during any given day, remember that as followers of Jesus, we have His Light in us!

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reminds us to shine for the Lord in this dark world. “… [L]et your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

This month, make the commitment to read God’s Word every day, pray for others, and plug in to your family and people less fortunate than you. Then feel His Light shine through you!
