Noteworthy: Respect for life resonates at Samaritan

One of the gratifying things about working at Samaritan Ministries is its year-round focus on the sanctity of human life, which pro-lifers in the U.S. especially mark each January. After working in secular media and having to take an “objective” view of issues concerning life, it was with great relief that I came to work at Samaritan in 2008, where I can, without hesitation, speak in fully pro-life terms.

That respect for life fully resonates in Samaritan’s updated Mission and Purpose statements, which are the focus of two articles in this month’s newsletter. At the heart of these statements is Jesus’ confirmation of the two greatest commandments: to love God and to love others (Matthew 22:36-40). Samaritan strives to carry out these commandments focusing on health care, but the overflow allows all of you, our fellow members, to love and care for each other from conception to the grave through prayer, encouragement, and financial support.

In doing that, we confirm that each of us is a precious gift from God. Let us continue to live out that truth in our daily lives as we affirm the sanctity of human life and the beauty of loving God and each other.
