Noteworthy: Beware of being deceived

Satan, that ancient serpent, has been lying to mankind from the beginning. Jesus didn’t shy away from confronting him and his followers.
In John 8:44, Jesus told the most respected religious leaders of His day, “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
The father of lies and his followers are all around us, some of them disguised as “angels of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). They can be quite convincing in their deceptions and even sometimes brazenly accuse those who oppose them of being liars.
We need to carefully question the information we receive, even when doing it is inconvenient or awkward, or makes us or someone else feel uncomfortable (Proverbs 18:17). Many sources of information we thought we could rely on in the past may no longer be trustworthy, and it can be destructive and even deadly to believe them.
