Noteworthy: Christmas points us to heaven

So now faith, hope, and love abide …
1 Corinthians 13:13
Ah, the Christmas season is in full swing once again, bringing to mind many cherished memories of laughter and celebration, worship and reflection, and delightful food and fellowship.
For many of us, the Christmas season brings to mind other memories, as well: Christmases filled with physical sickness and isolation, grief over the loss of loved ones who have passed away, or family conflict. Painful reminders of our human frailty. When can we cast off this brokenness and experience only the good?
As Christians, our Christmas joys and pains both point us to something greater—our future in heaven, filled with joy without sorrow and love without heartache. The baby in the manager is our promise that—come what may—God is always with us. Every beautiful Christmas memory is a glimpse into what we’ll one day enjoy forever. With no pain, no brokenness, and no more tears.
Only faith, hope, and love abide. May your heart be filled afresh with them this Christmas!
