Noteworthy: The Lord is bigger and stronger than anything we face

August has come, bringing with it the promise of more heat and humidity, but, unlike the less-structured days of June and July, August brings with it back-to-school business.

Fleeting are the flexible schedules, chasing of fireflies, late nights, and later mornings. Ahead looms the bustling of schedules, the restarting of routine, and homework.

While you are looking at the days ahead and watching the slower pace of summer slip away, it’s important to remember that whatever change you are facing—the birth of a child, the impending death of a loved one, the hope of marriage, the pain of sickness, or the uncertainty of financial difficulty—the Lord is bigger and stronger than anything you face.

Remember these words that a dying Moses spoke to the Israelites, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
