New Benefits Plus provides additional services for monthly fee

Note: New Benefits Plus is not available to members in Utah, Vermont, or the state of Washington.

Samaritan Ministries members have access to 10 health care discount and service offerings at no additional cost through New Benefits. For an additional $9.95 per month, per household, members can access three additional offerings through New Benefits Plus: counseling services, 24/7 access to Doctors Online, and alternative medicine.

You can add the offerings by logging into your Samaritan Dashboard, choosing Health Resources, logging in to New Benefits, and then clicking the button next to “Elevate Your Benefit Package!”

Counseling

New Benefits Plus members receive six free counseling visits per year, per incident.

By meeting with a certified counselor, you can get help determining the best course of action with strategies such as goal setting and solution-focused problem solving.

Members can call (800) 871-8558 any time for an assessment and then schedule up to six 30- to 45-minute sessions. Sessions, held via phone, virtually, or in-person, are typically available within three business days of the initial call. All of the counselors have a master’s degree and at least two years of experience.

Counseling services are not available for minors 13 and under, and the services do not provide financial or legal advice but can help with stress and anxiety brought on by those issues.

Doctors Online

Have a medical or dental question? Need some clarity on using that prescription?

Doctors Online, a New Benefits Plus service, gives you access to medical practitioners through email or text message for no additional cost any number of times at any time of day. You can receive guidance and information on a variety of issues from Doctors Online. The practitioners who will see your questions include doctors, pharmacists, dentists, dieticians, and others.

Responses are sent within a few hours, and your personal information remains secure.

If you are part of New Benefits Plus, you can access the service through your app or on the New Benefits website, which you can access through the Samaritan Dashboard Health Resources page.

The New Benefits package that is included with your Samaritan membership offers telemedicine, but you have to pay per virtual visit.

Alternative treatments

If you would like to get care apart from traditional medicine, then you can take advantage of the New Benefits Plus Alternative Medicine offering. You’ll get discounts on treatments from nontraditional practitioners, such as acupuncture and massage therapy.

New Benefits Plus discounts can be used with more than 35,000 practitioners nationwide for more than 35 types of specialties.
