New Benefits Ltd. access for members means savings

Samaritan Ministries members’ expressed desire for access to discounted services like telemedicine, vision and dental care, and labs is now being met through New Benefits Ltd., available since October.

As part of your Samaritan membership, New Benefits Ltd. provides:

• Telemedicine for a $38 per-visit fee.
• Free guidance on discount pricing for labs, diagnostic imaging, and prescriptions.
• Discounts on durable medical equipment.
• Savings on chiropractic care.
• Discounted diabetic testing supplies.
• Savings on vision exams and eyewear.
• Discounts on dental services.
• Savings on retail hearing aids.

For an additional $9.95 per month per household, a Samaritan family can also get access to:

• Reduced costs on natural health and wellness methods.
• 24/7 secure email or app question-and-answer access to doctors, pharmacists, psychologists, dentists, dieticians and more.
• Up to six free counseling sessions per member per issue per year.

Samaritan pursued bringing these offerings to members after in-depth feedback.

“We want to add value to membership,” said Felicia Joubert, Samaritan’s strategic relations manager. “We also want members to find affordable care, even if it’s not eligible for sharing, care that’s important for everyday life.”

It also is intended to offer members a way to more easily find care at a reasonable price.

Access to the offerings even go to campus with your college-age student who’s still a part of your household.

“Your college student can call telemedicine, or save on prescriptions or labs,” Felicia said.

If the services are accessed through the New Benefits app, then the discounts will automatically kick in, since these providers have signed on through New Benefits.

“Members have been asking for these things for a long time,” she added. “We are hopeful by giving them access to these affordable services, they will know how much we value them.”

New Benefits, which has been in business for more than three decades, contracts with different providers and then offers bundled services to members of organizations like Samaritan or employees of for-profit businesses. Access to the services will be through the Health Resources section of your Dashboard or the New Benefits mobile app.

Digital savings cards for each offering are available through your Dashboard or through the New Benefits app. Those members buying the added services can request physical cards.
