Messages: Members rejoice in blessings

God brought us to Samaritan Ministries in His divine timing. We had company-provided health insurance, and really had no reason to look elsewhere for health care but felt led to join Samaritan during an easy, peaceful point in our lives. We happily sent our monthly Shares for a couple of years, and then the news came — my husband was diagnosed with cancer, our infant was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, and, after my husband’s cancer surgery and before his chemotherapy began, we were blessed with a fourth pregnancy. This all happened within two months and, suddenly, God’s gentle guidance bringing us to Samaritan Ministries made sense.

Health insurance copays potentially would have bankrupted us amidst all our medical bills. What a relief knowing that, after our initial $400, every medical bill would be shared with Samaritan members. With Samaritan, we were able to choose the most highly skilled and knowledgeable doctors for each condition we were facing. We even traveled across the county to consult with the very doctor who had discovered a cure for my husband’s type of cancer. What a blessing!

God blessed us through our church. God blessed us through family and friends, through meals provided, childcare provided, transportation provided, lodging provided. God blessed us with Samaritan Ministries, that we had the freedom to focus on getting healthy and healed and never had to stress or worry about how we would pay for any of it.

Our daughter is 1-year post-op from her hip dysplasia surgery, and she is running and jumping and thriving. I was able to give birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl in the comfort of my home, attended by a skilled midwife and doula. And my husband is now declared in remission from stage 3 cancer. Great is Thy Faithfulness to us.
