When I was using the (Healthcare Bluebook) website, I wasn’t sure if I was selecting the correct procedures for cost estimates. I called Jaleesa for help when my local provider gave me an outrageous estimate—about 10 times more than what I was seeing on the website. Jaleesa confirmed that a new provider I found had a more reasonable fee. She answered every question I had and communicated with the health care providers to get payment to them and communicated it to Samaritan Ministries. Healthcare Bluebook alerted us that a planned hernia repair surgery through our closest option was grossly overcharging for a procedure that could be done 50 miles away for $20,000 less. Even though the surgeon had been met with, CT scans done, and surgery was scheduled, since it wasn’t emergent, we decided to cancel and reschedule to save Samaritan Ministries members money! We are thankful for their help!
