Member messages: Gifts 'made the difference'
By Samaritan members · May 31, 2025
My husband lost his job and was unemployed for six months. During this time, our son was born with a lip tie and tongue tie. After the first surgery, he seemed to be perfectly normal. About three months later, we noticed feeding concerns and immense tension in his body. We had just become Samaritan Ministries members around this time. Therapies and secondary surgery were needed, so we turned to Samaritan to be placed on the Special Prayer Need list. The financial and prayer support from members was so refreshing. Our son’s therapy is over, and he is eating with ease. It has been a huge turnaround, and I am so thankful to have found a community of believers to rally around us. It made the difference.—Ciara of Texas
There is something very powerful about reading encouragement and prayers from other brothers and sisters in Christ in your time of need. Some validated the challenges associated with three root canals and two crowns along with the pain, time, and cost involved. Some spoke such hope regarding how God heals and provides, while others shared meaningful verses or songs that were so heartening. I did not expect people to be so generous. After tallying amounts that were shared by members, I shed tears of thankfulness. What a blessing from our Lord. We are also grateful for the Samaritan Ministries staff, who regularly pray and answer our many questions each time we call. This ministry has blessed us profoundly and we are honored to be a part of it.—Lisa of Alabama
God has answered our prayers in so many ways. First is with Samaritan Ministries. It is truly a blessing to be able to handle your medical bills in such a stress-free way along with caring people who will take the time to talk and pray with you. This is how it should be. Second, after receiving cards and prayers from fellow members, you realize how wonderful the Body of Christ is. What a privilege to pray for others while helping them with their medical expenses, and when you can pray for others and know their need, it makes God’s family close.—Nola of Missouri
I am so very thankful to Samaritan Ministries and its members. I never thought I would have to go through a repeat cancer surgery, plus radiation treatment again. The words of encouragement, written prayers, and Scripture verses were so kind and uplifting along with the financial help with bills. God bless all the members who participate in this wonderful health care sharing ministry. —Jill of Wisconsin
