Member Letters: Persevering through trials

Although God has not chosen to heal Roslyn of her neurological disorder yet, He has provided financially through Samaritan members for every bill and through many gifts from friends to take care of other expenses. The total cost of treatment has exceeded $100,000 (even after many discounts). God has also given us the opportunity to share the gospel with many people we would never have met—doctors, nurses, other patients. Even new neighbors because we had to move out of our old house when Roslyn could no longer navigate the stairs. Our faith is being tested, but we look forward to the purifying of our souls through this refining fire.

Through the trials, seasons, and struggles how the Lord is with us! He never leaves us, He comforts us, and He provides in tangible ways to help us know and believe in Him. We have have had a solid 18 months of trials with multiple surgeries, caring for our mentally handicapped daughter, and another daughter heading off to college. Praise God that He always goes through the trial with us. Our burdens are getting lighter.

This has been a difficult nine months for our family as we recover from health problems, but God has been so faithful and good to us. As the letters came in I would sit down and cry. It was so humbling to read the notes of encouragement from members. I really felt the love of Christ through them. I am forever grateful to Samaritan and the members for the spiritual and financial support.

The last eight months have been so challenging as I walk through cancer treatment, but God has been with me through each day. He has shown me so much comfort and love. Everyday I am realizing there is nothing too big for God. I am so thankful a friend told us about Samaritan. I wish everyone could have this type of care when they are facing medical issues. The prayers and cards are so uplifting and the financial burden has been carried for us.
