Member letter: Trusting in God for baby’s health
By Samaritan member · Nov 26, 2014

We are so thankful for all that our great God and Savior did for us. It was really hard not knowing what would happen with Isaac. Going from thinking we had a perfectly healthy baby, to knowing that he had a rare heart disease, was shocking and devastating, but we have seen and experienced the grace, love, and provision of God so greatly. Knowing that hundreds of people (many whom we did not know personally) were praying for us and baby Isaac was such a comfort and encouragement. Seeing Isaac recover so far beyond the expectations of the doctors and nurses is a testimony of the power of prayer. We are so blessed to have so many come alongside us and support us through this time in our lives.
We are learning to trust and rely upon God through this situation as well as any unexpected situation that comes our way. The future is uncertain, but we know Who does know the future, and that brings us much comfort, and even joy. We can praise God for His mercy, grace, and healing power.
We could ask, “Why Isaac?” But that really is not the question that we should or will ask, because we know Who is carrying us through this time in our lives. We know that He is faithful in that He will continue to care for us and bring us great peace and joy.
We thank you for your prayers and encouragement. May God bless you all! We know that He has blessed us!
In Christ’s loving care and grace,
Christopher and Danielle Small
