Member letter: ‘They touched our lives tremendously’
By Samaritan member · Aug 31, 2015
My husband, Calvin, and I made a big decision. I would quit my job in order to be home with our new little girl. We crunched the numbers and saw that we could make it work, so I quit—then, we got the doctor bill and saw what insurance wasn’t going to cover! I freaked! How were we going to make this work? Would I have to find a new job? All of these questions were floating in my head, so I called Samaritan. They told me that our need wasn’t publishable since the pregnancy was pre-existing, but they could set it up as a Special Prayer Need. We went with that, but in my head I figured that not much would come from it. Why would complete strangers care to help me out?
I can’t express how truly thankful we are for all of the amazing people who have supported and encouraged us! Though I will most likely never meet them or hear from them again, they touched our lives tremendously. Not only because of their financial help, but also because of their kind, thoughtful letters. This was our first experience with publishing a need, and we were so, so blessed throughout the process.
God truly has carried us, and we will not forget those amazing strangers He placed in our path in order to support our family.
