Member letter: ‘The beauty of Samaritan Ministries’ arrives from members

We were confused when the first letter arrived containing a check for $25 and a note of encouragement from total strangers. Well, mainly because the return address was Mansfield, Ohio, the tiny town where my dad was born and where many of my relatives live! What are the chances? It became clear over the next few days as more letters and checks arrived that this confused feeling we felt is the beauty of Samaritan Ministries. We are so used to defending our needs to insurance companies whose only concern is the bottom line. To be on the receiving end of such lavish grace from a caring community of believers is a welcome change and carries a healing element of its own. We were also astonished that when all was said and done, the total gifts we received toward our Special Prayer Need equaled the exact amount of one monthly share. Again, what are the chances?

We don’t believe in coincidences, but rather a God Who cares and provides for each of His children so lavishly, so intimately and so perfectly.
