Member letter: Special Prayer Need response felt really special

I didn’t realize our Special Prayer Need had been published in the newsletter until I opened our first envelope with a return address I did not recognize—$20—it might as well have been $2,000 for how excited it made my husband and I feel. We received 121 envelopes over a five- to-six week period with each containing a note, a card, beautiful words of encouragement, and reminders of the faithfulness of God. Each so special.
What encouraged us most was suddenly realizing that the Lord was using us as well to bless others with our words of encouragement and monetary gifts, even our small gifts. Did the people we had sent our Special Prayer Needs to feel as blessed as we did?
In many ways I feel we have missed out on so many blessings because it took us so long to actually join Samaritan after we were initially introduced to the ministry. But, God knows all about that, too!
