Member letter: ‘God has used this ministry’

I had an emergency appendectomy and have been tremendously blessed to have been a part of Samaritan. Were I still on my employer’s medical plan, up to 80 percent would have been covered, assuming in my emergency that I had ended up at an “approved” doctor. I would have incurred $6,000-$8,000 in medical debt based on their co-pay setup, but the way Samaritan is set up, all my need was shared. Samaritan also enlightened me to the room for negotiations on medical expenses that initially totaled more than $30,000. God has used this ministry to provide for me in a time of medical crisis, circumventing a financial crisis as well.
Furthermore, the notes of encouragement and prayers made a difference. This was not a bureaucratic exercise as is very common in the medical sector, but rather a true example of believers sharing one another’s burdens and of the power of prayer. Thank you!
