- In this month’s cover article, Samaritan Ministries’ member Dr. Jane Orient asks why patients are willing to accept the waste, unnecessary expense, and low-quality care imposed on them by “Big Health Care.” Shouldn’t they see a doctor who is working for them, who cares about them, who will keep their data confidential, and who will prescribe according to his own best judgment and not that of a third party?
- In “Recovering Objective Truth, Part 2,” Rob Slane gives us five things to remember when facing attacks on Christian values. We should remember that we still live in the world God made, no matter how much people attempt to ignore reality.
- This month’s Member Spotlight features The God’s Story Project, a ministry that trains people to tell the stories of the Bible to those who are unable to read the Bible for themselves. The demand for the materials is huge, and they are now available in 350 languages. There’s also an example of how The God’s Story Project breaks through to youth, and our member explains why she joined Samaritan.
- Samaritan member Audrey Elliott shares what she learned from an ectopic pregnancy. She writes, “Going the route we chose was more expensive, painful, time-consuming, and inconvenient. But God is the giver of life, and we will honor Him as the only One with the right to take it.”
- Dr. Joseph Mercola points out that new government regulations define “healthy” in a way that Pop-Tarts and Frosted Flakes are considered healthier than nuts and avocados! Mercola says the wrongheaded recommendations can be traced back to half a century of bad science, especially the demonization of fat and the overlooking of the serious dangers of sugar.
- Ray King’s Doorpost for July explores Ephesians 4:1-3, which exhorts us to bear with one another in love.
