In Prayer: When do we pray? All the time
By Mike Miller · Aug 01, 2012
But He would withdraw to desolate places and pray.
Luke 5:16
Jesus prayed all the time.
In Mark 1:35 we are told of one time that, early in the morning while it was still dark, Jesus went out to pray.
In Luke 4:38-44 we read about a time when Jesus was ministering until after dark, but the next morning He immediately went out to a desolate place. He must have received guidance from His time there, because when the crowds came out seeking more of His ministry, He told them He had to go on to other towns.
In Matthew 14, after hours of ministry—healing, feeding and teaching—Jesus sent the crowd away and went up into the mountain to pray. That night, after spending time in prayer with His Father, He continued the training of His disciples by walking on water!
In Luke 6:12-16 we learn about a time when Jesus stayed up all night praying, then He chose the 12 who would be His apostles.
When should we pray? Anytime we want to see or do the work of God.
