In Prayer: Let’s pray for salvation of all

By Samaritan staff  ·  Sep 19, 2012

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
1 Timothy 2:1-6

If we “first of all” pray for all people, we are doing what is good—morally good. This is honorable and upright before God, displaying moral integrity. It is virtuous in God’s sight.

The work of prayer is acceptable to God. As we pray for all men, those in authority in particular, we will be living according to the instruction of God, our Creator, and it will be pleasing to Him. He will find it agreeable because it fits with His goal for mankind. God desires that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (v.4). Let’s pray to that end.
