In Prayer: Bloom where you are planted
By Mike Miller · Nov 14, 2012
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
Jeremiah 29:7
In His mercy, God has called us out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His Son—the Kingdom of light. Although we have become citizens of God’s Kingdom, we still live in this world—as sojourners and exiles. How does God want a “resident foreigner” to live?
When the Israelites were taken away into captivity, they were told to seek the welfare of the city where they were taken. In the same way, let us pray for and seek the welfare of the place where God has placed us. Ask God to strengthen families as the foundational building block of society. Pray that the Lord will bless His Church to be a light in a dark land, building His Kingdom through the proclamation of the Gospel. Ask God for governing authorities who will support Biblical values, promoting justice and peace throughout the land.
In Prayer is taken from past Samaritan Prayer Guide meditations.
