In Prayer: A Gift that lights up the world
By Michael Miller · Dec 12, 2012
May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in Whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:11-14
When we receive a gift we like, we are grateful. We give thanks and sometimes praise the giver. The more we value the gift, the more grateful we are and the more we praise the giver.
We have received the ultimate Gift from God the Father through His Son becoming flesh. He became one of us and dwelt with us. We have been delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of Jesus Christ, His Son, Who has provided redemption, the forgiveness of sins. We can trust in His steadfast love and faithfulness. The Christmas season is a reminder of this Gift. Our hearts can be brimming with praise to God that overflows to everyone around us.
