HCSM Myth #8: The money won’t get sent
By Mike Miller · Aug 30, 2011
From the beginning of health care sharing ministries, objections to the system have been raised that do not accurately reflect reality. To help clear up these misunderstandings, we’re running a series of posts that dispel those myths.
Myth #8: People won’t send money to people they don’t know.
Samaritan members have been sending money to people they don’t know for more than 17 years. We understand it is difficult for someone who doesn’t believe in Christ and the Bible to understand why someone would want to send money to another person they don’t know or would trust that a person they don’t know will send money to them when they have a need. However, Christians who live according to the instructions of the Scriptures understand their responsibility to help those in need and trust that they will be treated the same in their time of need. We believe that, ultimately, God provides—often through His children.
