God is in control, and He will deliver us

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand delivers me. The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands.

Psalm 138:7-8

Today we are facing even more uncertainty than we are accustomed to and it may seem like a bad dream. But this can be good, because when everything is “normal,” we may forget just how beyond our control our lives really are and become complacent.

No matter how great our troubles, no matter how many enemies we face, God is in control and He will deliver us. He may not deliver us in the way we would expect or choose, but we can be certain that He will cause “all things to work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose … to be conformed to the image of His Son.” (Romans 8: 28-29) “We know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:2b)

Because of His steadfast love, the LORD will deliver each of us in a way that moves us closer to the image of His Son. He will not forsake the work of His hands. Trust in Him and give Him thanks and praise in everything.
