Discounts for dental, vision, and hearing services now available

Samaritan Ministries members now have access to savings on dental, vision, and hearing services through New Benefits Ltd.

By signing in through the Samaritan Member Dashboard or using the New Benefits app, you can:

  • find a provider in your area and
  • read more details.

A PDF with a member “card” can be accessed through the New Benefits website, but a digital card is also available through the app to use with the different types of providers.

Dental discounts

The dental discounts come through New Benefits courtesy of Humana Dental Access. Savings can be found at more than 160,000 dental locations nationwide. Specific savings of 20% to 40% per visit can be found depending on your provider, the service, and the geographical area. Discounts are available for the following:

  • cleanings
  • X-rays
  • crowns
  • root canals
  • fillings

Additional savings may be available on orthodontics and periodontics, too, again depending on the provider, service, and geographical area.

New Benefits encourages Samaritan members to contact providers ahead of time to confirm their participation in Humana Dental Access. If a provider is not part of Humana Dental Access, you can call support at (877) 281-7031 for help in finding a provider, or you can use the app or website to show providers in your area. Showing your card at check-in or checkout should provide the discounts.

Also, there is no limit to the card’s use.

If you have trouble finding a provider, you can call New Benefits customer service at (800) 800-7616 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time on Saturdays. If your dentist is not a participating provider, you can recommend them through the app, online, or by calling New Benefits customer support. Submit the provider’s information and Humana will contact the provider about joining the network.

Vision discounts

Discounts on vision services from exams to laser surgery are offered by Coast to Coast Vision™ through New Benefits.

Members can find participating providers through the website or app.

Eyewear and exam offerings include the following:

  • 20% to 60% off prescription eyewear, including most frames, lenses, and specialty items like tints, coatings, and UV protection
  • 10% to 30% off exams

Participating chains include LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Visionworks, JCPenney, Sears, Target, and others. Some eye doctors in private practices also participate.

Again, if you have trouble finding a provider, you can call New Benefits customer service from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time on Saturdays.

Like dental, there is no limit on the number of times the savings can be applied. However, the discounts can’t be combined with other discounts or special offers.

Also available are mail-order replacement contact lenses, with savings of between 10% and 40%. Orders can be placed online through your New Benefits member site or app. You can get a quote on your cost by calling (800) 878-3901 or sending an email with a copy of your prescription to [email protected] or faxing it to (972) 991-5218.

Finally, you can use New Benefits to get 40% to 50% off the average cost of laser surgery. Participating providers can be found through your New Benefits web portal or app. Present your membership card with the Coast to Coast Vision logo to be able to pay the discounted total. For help in locating a provider, call (877) 307-4448 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central time Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time Saturday.

Hearing discounts

Discounts on hearing services are provided by New Benefits through Amplifon. You can get help with accessing the services by calling (844) 529-5779. Services include the following:

  • appointment help with participating providers
  • an average savings of 64% off the manufacturer-suggested retail price for hearing aids
  • one year of follow-up care for cleaning and checkups with purchase
  • a free two-year supply of disposable batteries or a charging station to stay powered
  • a three-year warranty for loss, repairs, or damage
  • a 100% money-back guarantee during a 60-day risk-free trial
  • access to more than 2,000 different hearing aid models by providers like Miracle Ear, Phonak, Starkey, and other manufacturers
