Confusing your generosity muscles
By Mike Miller · Aug 18, 2011
Note: Notes like this that encourage us to be more generous are not intended to spur you to give more to Samaritan Ministries (although if you want to, that’s fine, especially The Morning Center project!!!! Just kidding. Kinda.). They’re just intended to spur you to live a more generous lifestyle if you aren’t already doing that. So please don’t think we’re trying to pad our general fund. We’re trying to pad the Kingdom’s finances in general and help us all to be better stewards.
This post at Christian Personal Finance encourages us to flex our giving muscles in different ways so that they don’t get comfortable with any one method. Chris McDaniel likens this to an exercise method that “confuses” muscles and helps them to grow in different ways. He offers five ways to do this. Worth reading.
