1-year-old member walks into church on his own ... for the first time!

Here’s a video of 1-year-old Samaritan Ministries member Lucas Bobakov, son of Dennis and Elizabet of Pennsylvania, walking into church … for the first time on his own.

Lucas and his twin brother, Peter, both experienced medical problems in the womb that resulted in an emergency caesarean section in October 2016, with Lucas having a blood clot in his left leg and Peter developing hearing problems. Lucas’ leg was amputated at 2 weeks old, and Peter has received cochlear implants.

Lucas received his prosthetic and started practicing on parallel bars at home last fall. Then, earlier this summer, he walked into the family’s worship service under his own power, and the Bobakovs made sure to capture the moment in all of its heartwarming glory.

Dennis said the family is “extremely thankful” to Samaritan Ministries members for their prayers, notes of encouragement, and Shares.

“It was a trying process, but being part of Samaritan Ministries was a comforting thing,” Dennis said. “We know we’re being taken care of. It hasn’t been a headache like dealing with an insurance bureaucracy. It’s a pleasure just to call into Samaritan.”

Another video of Lucas, one of him climbing stairs with one leg, has gone viral as well!
