Member Connect is the latest app to be launched on the Dashboard, giving us a new way to participate in Biblical community. Log in at Dash.SamaritanMinistries.org to join in praying for one another, exchanging tips about health issues or dealing with providers, and helping each other resolve any issues related to your Samaritan membership.

Here are are few examples of the connections being made.

My wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer

Peter: She just completed chemo sessions and will move on to mastectomies and then radiation therapy. Would request prayer for our family, especially my wife as she goes through this very difficult process. Please pray that Jesus will sustain us in our faith as He has thus far through our prayers and those of our friends and church community.

This is a long process and one that is difficult to understand the why—we try to maintain a positive outlook on the process and have placed the outcome in God’s hands.
Jen: Heavenly Father, I pray for the surgery that You will give the doctors wisdom and guide them and that You will give your children comfort and peace as they go through this process.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

Prayer for our struggling teen

Christine: Our daughter (18) has struggled with anxiety, depression, and unforgiveness. We are at a point where we’ve decided to offer her mediation with a trained Biblical counselor or living elsewhere as a solution to restore peace in our lives, and hers.

Please pray for wisdom for us, and healing, peace, and reconciliation for our child ...
Diane: Praying James 1:5 for you as you seek direction for your daughter and your family, to His glory. May He give you patience, strength and peace as He works His perfect will in your daughter’s life. We are walking a similar road and have seen His faithfulness over the years.
Monica: As a parent myself (kids ranging in age from 38 to 18) I feel for you! I’ll certainly pray for all you’ve asked. Teenage years are especially difficult for kids without the additional struggles you’ve mentioned.

Don’t be discouraged if this process takes longer than you’d hoped. (It usually does!) One thing I do know is that God hears all your prayers.
Amy: How my heart aches for you. As I read your post I was remembering a time in my sister’s life when the enemy had such a strong hold on her. My parents continued to be strong and pray and fight for her to be restored. One night she even physically assaulted my mother and had to be taken away by the police. I am so joyful to be able to say that God had a greater plan and she is fully restored to Him and to our family! There is still hope for your daughter!

Praise for healing of my shoulder impingement syndrome

Marion: I avoided surgery through easy physical therapy videos I found on Youtube. Here’s the link, just watch, it speaks for itself.

Pain free in two days! Healing through prayer plus know-how works. I’m so grateful I got the right ideas. Praise God!

Save on Epi-Pens

Ryne: We were just informed by one of our members that there is a great deal for a generic Epi-Pen at CVS.

If you sign up for a savings card you can save $100.00 on a 2 pack, which would reduce their price to less than $10.00! Here are the links you can use ...

How many members use Direct Primary Care?

Anthony: For primary care provider or family doctor?
Daniel: I use Direct Doctors in Rhode Island. This is very high level care and often eliminates the need for specialists. For a modest monthly “subscription fee” I get all access to my doctor. The response time is quick. My office visits have never been less than 30 minutes with the doctor and are often as much as an hour. My doctor knows me and I know him. This has led to a tremendous amount of trust both ways. I have avoided incurring expenses for SMI members as well. He has taken care of needs that in the past have required a visit to hand specialists and urologists.

I highly recommend this type of relationship. In those months where I had a shared need I am able to submit the monthly fee as well.
Linda: We have been with a Direct Primary Care provider for several months now; very happy with the way it works: monthly fee gives us 24/7 access to Dr. via email, text, or cell phone call. Appointments within 24 hrs. No long waits in a waiting room. Great relationship with Dr.! I could go on and on ... do it!

Benefits of essential oils?

Doris: I have have been using peppermint oil instead of taking over-the-counter allergy medicine for about a year now. I would really like to learn more about the benefit of oils and the different brands that are best to use. Has anyone else seen a benefit from using oils?
Michael: I have been using Lemon Grass and Rosemary to assist with dandruff and psoriasis. So far, noticeable results.
Roy: I have been using coconut oil for several years and like how it helps my skin.
Jared: Recently used Tea Tree oil (diluted) for my son’s earache. He experienced relief within a matter of hours. I’m not certain the full extent of what was causing the ear pain to begin with but 24 hours later he is still symptom free.

How do I join Save to Share?

Jodi: I am very interested in joining Save to Share. Can I join Save to Share any time during the year, or do I have to wait until my annual Continuation? Can I join online?
Kailee: You aren’t able to start instantly online yet, but you can join Save to Share at any time! Just go to “Membership” and click “Learn More” for Save to Share and it will give you an option to request to join. 
