The Proof: Words of reference

Samaritan Ministries has been such a blessing to us. We have been members for several years now, and we have been so blessed by being able to help other families in need both financially and prayerfully. I never really thought we would have to be the family that people had to pray for, but one day, that did indeed happen. When our son was in an accident, and the bills were in excess of the insurance he had as a newspaper carrier, God's people were there. It was so encouraging to receive notes and cards from all across the country filled with prayers for healing and checks to help with the burden of the bills. Some folks, both family and members of our church were skeptical at first about this ministry, but after seeing how God's people came through for us, they have nothing but praise.

The Scripture teaches us "In all things to give thanks." With this, I would like to thank the Samaritan Ministries Staff, and the subscribers for blessing us in our time of financial need. Your gifts and the special cards prayers, letters, notes and much more that you sent us was so inspiring and encouraging. To know that the people of God can love and show compassion to each other, just as Jesus did, is an example of the love of God.

It has been so incredible - receiving all the wonderful cards and letters from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the United States. We all prayed and "sat on the edges of our seats" to see if Samaritan Ministries "really" works. We attest that it truly and really does work. For our devotional for our missionary staff yesterday, we took all the letters and notes and cards and spread them out on our large staff--meeting table. We had each of the missionaries take one of the envelopes at random and read what the giving member had written. We were and are blessed. Is this a little touch of heaven - where we will be with so many believers (whom we have never met) but love, pray and care for us? Thank you for being there for us.

…When we joined, we didn't know if this was for real or not. We all know how insurance can be - pay in continually and then not get any money back when it is needed. I can't say enough good about Samaritan, now that I have seen it work. What a wonderful group of Christians you are. What a wonderful, caring way for people to lend help to others in financial and emotional need. … when the checks started coming in, what hope it gave us. The special notes…and the thoughtful blessings enclosed were so kind and uplifting. What a blessing it is to receive help and comfort through freely given donations and little notes from total strangers who are true brothers and sisters in Christ.
